Manila, Oct. 21 -- Senate President Pro Tempore Vicente Sotto III on Wednesday assured that the Senate would reject questionable adjustments to the proposed 2027 national budget and maintain transparent deliberations following the Supreme Court ruling that struck down unconstitutional congressional spending increases in previous years.

In a chance interview, Sotto said the Senate would apply the same transparency measures adopted during the passage of the 2026 national budget, including the livestreaming of proceedings.

"What we did with the 2026 budget, if you recall, is we made it transparent," Sotto said. "That's why I even recommended live streaming, which we did."
