Sorsogon, Naga City ramp up dengue response as cases surge
Manila, Sept. 8 -- The provincial government of Sorsogon has ordered intensified anti-dengue measures following a rise in cases that has reached the epidemic threshold.
Sorsogon Governor Edwin Hamor issued Executive Order No. 129-2026, directing municipal governments and communities to mobilize all available resources to prevent, control and respond to the dengue threat.
The Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) recorded 123 new dengue cases from Aug. 16 to 22, bringing the total number of cases since Jan. 1 to 1,426.
Hamor said the number represents a 107-percent increase from last year.
