Manila, Sept. 24 -- A student at the South East Asian Institute of Technology (SEAIT) in Tupi, South Cotabato has been charged with grave threats under Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, for allegedly sending a threat. In an interview with reporters on Thursday,

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. said the student is a resident of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

Tamayo said he directed the school administration to expel the student and to bar him from re-enrolling. SEAIT is founded and owned by the governor's family.

"We have been providing free education, yet he did something wrong in our province. That is why I instructed the school to expel him and not accept him again," Tamayo said in Filipino....
