Manila, March 25 -- Works on the delayed slope protection structure in Pasig City are expected to be completed before the start of the rainy season, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Wednesday.
In a statement, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the agency is speeding up the project construction in Barangay San Jose to allay long-standing fears of residents due to possible landslides in their area during the rainy season.
"We are speeding up the construction of slope protection here because we don't want what we saw in other areas to happen, where the ground is getting softer until it collapses," said Dizon who inspected the structure on Tuesday.
