Manila, May 18 -- A mayor in Maguindanao del Sur on Monday urged the Department of Justice (DOJ) to promptly act on its investigation into the repeated attempts on his life, including a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on his convoy last January.

Shariff Aguak Mayor Akmad "Mitra" Ampatuan made this appeal in a media interview after attending the preliminary investigation on the anti-terrorism complaints he filed against the persons allegedly behind the RPG attack, which he survived on Jan. 25.
