Manila, May 12 -- Senators Panfilo Lacson and Risa Hontiveros on Tuesday expressed concern over the turmoil that followed the Senate leadership change and tensions surrounding Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa inside the Senate complex.

Lacson described Monday's transition that installed Senator Alan Peter Cayetano as Senate president as lacking the courtesy and decorum traditionally observed during leadership changes in the chamber.

"Any way you look at it, regardless of your political persuasion, what happened on Monday was ugly. It was an unpleasant sight," he said in a radio interview.

He said Senate transitions traditionally involved senators formally informing the sitting Senate president before session to ensure a smooth turnover....
