Manila, June 11 -- The Senate on Thursday assured the public that no confidential or sensitive information appears to have been compromised after its official website was subjected to a cyberattack that altered its contents.

In a statement, the Senate's Electronic Data Processing and Management Information System (EDP-MIS) said the incident involved an unauthorized modification of the Senate website, commonly known as a website defacement.

The technical team activated security protocols, contained the issue, and launched a comprehensive investigation into the breach.
