Manila, June 10 -- Senate President Pro Tempore Sherwin Gatchalian on Wednesday said authorities are validating intelligence reports linking a reported security threat against the Senate to a group of alleged former bodyguards who recently surfaced in the chamber amid the ongoing flood control controversy.

During a virtual press briefing, Gatchalian said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) relayed information that prompted Senate officials to tighten security protocols and place employees under a temporary work-from-home arrangement, while intelligence reports are being cross-checked with other agencies.
