Manila, Feb. 24 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) has finalized its security plan for the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution and the Trillion Peso March on Wednesday.
This, even as the PNP has not monitored any security threat to the gathering where tens of thousands of people are expected to attend.
"There are no verified intelligence reports confirming any security threat but we will not lower our guard by maintaining high level of alertness to prevent infiltration of individuals who may intend to disrupt a peaceful assembly," PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement Tuesday.
Nartatez said the goal is "to make sure that all the planned activities will be peaceful and orderly."
