TACLOBAN CITY, Oct. 14 -- At least 200 hot meals will be served daily at the newly launched Walang Gutom Kitchen (WGK) in Samar province, the fourth facility of its kind in the country.

The facility, which opened on Monday, will prioritize individuals and families experiencing involuntary hunger, street dwellers, and vulnerable low-income workers.

"Beyond providing immediate food assistance, the WGK aims to serve as a venue for connecting children, families, Indigenous Peoples, and other vulnerable individuals with appropriate social protection programs and services," the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said in a statement issued late Monday.
