Manila, March 3 -- South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Tuesday expressed support for the Philippines' chairship of the 2026 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits.

Speaking after his bilateral meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Malacanan Palace in Manila, Lee said they agreed to create synergies between the Philippines' ASEAN agenda and Korea-ASEAN strategic visions.

This year's ASEAN Agenda includes Peace and Security Anchors, Prosperity Corridors and People Empowerment, while the Korea-ASEAN strategic visions focus on contributing to dreams and hopes, growth and innovation, and regional peace and stability.
