Romualdez to file counter-affidavit vs 'Maleta Boys'
Manila, Aug. 20 -- Former House Speaker Martin Romualdez is set to file a supplemental counter-affidavit before the Office of the Ombudsman disputing allegations by the so-called "18 Maleta Boys" that they delivered cash-filled suitcases to him, his counsel and spokesperson said Thursday.
Lawyer Ade Fajardo said the supplemental pleading will include sworn statements from 25 former drivers and security aides of Rep. Zaldy Co, who have allegedly contradicted the accounts of the group of witnesses presented by lawyer Levito Baligod.
Fajardo made the announcement during a press conference at a restaurant along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, speaking on behalf of Romualdez.
