Manila, Sept. 27 -- Typhoon Queenie (international name: Surigae) slightly intensified early Sunday as it accelerated north-northeastward, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continued to bring rains over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 5 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, PAGASA said the center of Queenie's eye was located approximately 685 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, based on available data at 4 a.m.
