Manila, Sept. 23 -- The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell for a fourth straight session on Wednesday amid inflation and growth worries, even as the local currency found relief to finish stronger against the US dollar.

The local bourse's main index declined by 0.33 percent to 5,795.14 points, and the broader All Shares by 0.21 percent to 3,246.44 points.

"The extended market decline is attributed to weak confidence towards the local economy amid inflation and, consequently, growth worries. The rise in local treasury yields also weighed on the local market," Philstocks Research said in a market report.

The Property index was the sole gainer of the day, rising by 0.45 percent.
