Manila, April 7 -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has already registered over 12,000 residents of the city and province of Iloilo under its birth registration assistance project (PBRAP) as of the last week of March this year.
Launched in 2022, the BRAP aims to increase the level of civil registration, especially in marginalized communities.
PSA Iloilo Supervising Statistical Specialist Jerry Dolutan said in an interview on Tuesday that as of March this year, around 48,000 have submitted for verification to check if they have birth records.
Of the number, 28,000 or about 60 percent were confirmed to have no existing birth record, and proceeded to register.
