Manila, Sept. 22 -- Police authorities in Koronadal City have swiftly responded to a reported social media threat on Monday afternoon, resulting in a teenager's voluntary surrender to police and barangay officials.

In a report on Tuesday, Brig. Gen. Alan Manibog, police director for the Police Regional Office-Soccsksargen (PRO-12), said the incident was reported to the Koronadal City Police Station (CPS) around 4 p.m., after a concerned school official sought police assistance regarding a threatening message received via a social media account allegedly linked to the suspect, identified by the alias Nino.

Nino has threatened to attack a school in Barangay Paraiso of the city.
