Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Philippine National Railways (PNR) in the Bicol Region increased train services and improved security on Friday to provide safe and organized transportation for commuters, devotees, and tourists during the 2026 Penafrancia Festival.

Under its "Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Penafrancia 2026," PNR will implement enhanced operations from Sept. 11 to 20, including additional train trips, increased passenger capacity, and heightened safety and security measures.

During an online press briefing, Joselina Geronimo, PNR operations department manager, said the agency expects around 6,000 to 7,000 passengers daily during the festival, with passenger volume possibly reaching 8,000 or more.
