Manila, July 21 -- Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. on Tuesday said the police force has completed contingency, action and operational planning for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27, with security preparations now in full swing.

He said the PNP is coordinating with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, local government units and other law enforcement agencies to address potential threats and ensure the safety of the venue, participants, surrounding communities and protesters throughout the event.
