Manila, July 17 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday encouraged motorcycle taxi riders to make full use of the 911 emergency hotline as part of stronger measures to prevent attacks and speed up police response during emergencies.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. said the organization is intensifying public awareness on the proper use of the emergency hotline following the recent fatal stabbing incidents involving motorcycle taxi riders in Caloocan City and Cavite.
