Manila, April 1 -- The modernization of the Philippine National Police (PNP) received a significant boost on Wednesday with the acquisition of more than PHP506 million worth of mobility and protective equipment.
The newly procured assets, including protective gear, will be distributed to police units nationwide, according to PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., who led the blessing ceremony at Camp Crame.
Under the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) for fiscal year 2025, the PNP received equipment valued at PHP244,710,956, including 800 sets of Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) equipment; 3,711 all-purpose waistcoat vests; 600 sets of non-lethal equipment; and 403 automated night vision devices.
