Manila, July 2 -- The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman on Thursday unveiled the model unit for a rental housing project.

The UP Diliman management welcomed the UP Southern Diliman Gardens project, saying it is "very valuable" for the community.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and UP Diliman Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the project.

The Megawide Construction Corp., which will undertake the project, committed to completing at least five buildings by June 2027.

The Southern Diliman Gardens is among the pioneer rental housing models under the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
