Pilandok now tropical storm, no wind signal hoisted
Manila, Sept. 1 -- Tropical cyclone Pilandok (international name Krovanh) has intensified into a tropical storm, but the weather bureau has not hoisted wind signal in any part of the country.
It packs maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometer per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 80 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 11 a.m. bulletin Tuesday.
The cyclone was last located 1,060 km. east of extreme Northern Luzon, and is almost stationary.
The weather bureau said Pilandok is less likely to make landfall, and will remain far from landmass.
