Manila, March 9 -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has paid nearly PHP30.74 billion in benefit claims nationwide as of January 2026, reflecting a 52.72 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Data from PhilHealth showed that payments to private healthcare facilities reached PHP18.09 billion, while government hospitals received PHP12.65 billion.

In January 2025, PhilHealth paid a total of PHP20.13 billion in benefit claims, including PHP11.37 billion to private hospitals and PHP8.76 billion to government health facilities.
