MANILA, July 27 -- The Philippines has expressed concern over the ongoing dispute between fellow members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Thailand and Cambodia, calling for a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law.

In a statement late Saturday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said the Philippines supports efforts to de-escalate tensions and is open to providing assistance to help restore peace between the two countries.

"The Philippines views with concern the ongoing conflict between our two fellow ASEAN Member States and urge them to resolve the dispute in accordance with international law and the peaceful settlement of disputes," Marcos said.
