Manila, March 19 -- The Philippine Army is doing its best to ensure that the capabilities and skill sets of its units and personnel are up to par with today's modern technologies, its chief said Thursday.

"We recognize that rapid advancement of technology has introduced new dimensions in warfare that demand structural adaptation. We undertook deliberate organizational adjustments to ensure that our structure, capabilities and doctrines remain aligned with the realities of contemporary battle space," Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete said in his speech at the celebration of the Army's 129th founding anniversary.
