Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Philippines was listed in the global top 10 best destinations for retirees, securing a high score of 95.1 in general affordability and 91 for housing affordability.

In the recent Rumavi Global Relocation Index, the country joined Malaysia and Thailand as the only three Southeast Asian states to make it to the 10 best countries list to retire in this year.

Malaysia ranked number 1 among 192 countries and territories in the index, Thailand came in fourth, while the Philippines placed eighth.

The Singapore-based relocation advisory firm Rumavi said the Philippines stands out as a "particularly strong option" for retirees, citing its exceptional affordability and housing costs.
