Manila, June 16 -- The Philippines and Germany on Tuesday signed an aviation partnership aimed at developing a major aircraft maintenance facility at Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier witnessed the presentation and exchange of the signed agreement in a ceremony held at Malacanan Palace in Manila after their bilateral meeting.

The lease agreement was signed by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, the Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corporation, and Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP).

The agreement covers a 157,000-square-meter site within the Clark airport complex.
