PDEA destroys P12B worth of illegal drugs, chemicals
Manila, Aug. 27 -- Reaffirming the government's commitment to ensuring that confiscated illegal drugs never find their way back into communities, authorities on Thursday destroyed around PHP12.34 billion worth of dangerous drugs, controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECs) at a waste management facility in Trece Martires City, Cavite, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
According to PDEA, this marks the largest volume of dangerous drugs destroyed by the agency to date, with a total of 2,224,679.9705 grams of solid substances, together with 106,386.0500 milliliters of liquid dangerous drugs.
Destroyed through thermal decomposition were 1,774,023 grams of shabu, 433,336 grams of marijuana; 2,208 grams of cocaine...
