Manila, Oct. 23 -- Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Lino Cayetano on Friday sought stronger partnerships with media organizations to improve public access to accurate information and help stop misinformation and disinformation.

In a media interview, Cayetano said the PCO would work with the media to establish a system for verifying and reporting fake news identified by the government.

Cayetano said the proposed mechanism would allow media organizations to validate information flagged by the PCO before publishing their findings, helping curb the spread of false information and protect the credibility of news organizations.
