Manila, March 12 -- The majority of insurance claims of farmers and fishers have been released within the standard 20-day processing period in 2025, according to the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).

"In 2025, we're computing at 80 or even higher, at 90 percent, within the standard 20 working days," PCIC President Jovy Bernabe told reporters in an interview on the sidelines of the partnership signing with the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on Monday.

Bernabe said the state-run firm's digitalization and modernization efforts have helped ease the release of claims.

Satellite imagery was used to estimate agricultural damage in geo-tagged farms, which enhanced the insurance release.
