Manila, Sept. 17 -- The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) has started the release of coconut seedlings in Antique as part of its massive planting initiative to support the national target of planting 100 million seedlings by 2028 under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan.

An initial 3,000 of the 7,007 seedlings allocated for the town of Hamtic were delivered on Thursday. PCA targets to cover 49 hectares in this municipality, said PCA Division Chief I for Antique and Aklan Gregory Tenoso III in an interview.

He said that farmers registered with the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS) are eligible to avail of the free seedlings.
