Manila, Nov. 6 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday met with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) leaders at Malacanang Palace in Manila to discuss steps to achieve lasting peace in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Marcos met with MILF chairperson Ahod "Al Haj Murad" Ebrahim to sustain the peace efforts and advance the implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a press briefing.

The meeting followed the historic opening of the first Bangsamoro Parliament, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation between the government and the MILF in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
