Manila, June 22 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday inspected ongoing rehabilitation works along the Mananga River in Talisay City, Cebu, under the government's Oplan Kontra Baha initiative, as authorities continue efforts to reduce flood risks in the province.

Marcos engaged with residents living near the river during his visit to Barangay San Isidro and noted improvements in flood control structures and drainage systems following recent severe flooding.

The President said modifications were made to slow down water flow and improve drainage capacity, allowing floodwaters to properly exit instead of accumulating for long periods during heavy rains.
