Pangasinan LGUs act as leptospirosis cases rise
Manila, Sept. 16 -- The provincial government of Pangasinan and the local government units (LGUs) are in close coordination on interventions to curb the rise in leptospirosis cases in the province.
During an online forum hosted by the Philippine Information Agency-Pangasinan on Wednesday, Provincial Health Office (PHO) assistant department head Dr. Ronn Allen Teniozo said the province recorded 334 leptospirosis cases from Jan. 1 to Sept. 14 this year, 83 percent higher than the 182 cases during the same period last year.
He said 25 deaths have been recorded during the period, a little lower compared to 28 deaths during the same period last year.
