Manila, June 15 -- Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. on Monday said retired Army general Jovito S. Palparan remains detained at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

Catapang made the remark following a recent manifestation filed by private complainants Erlinda Cadapan and Concepcion Empeno.

In a complaint submitted to the Supreme Court on June 9, Cadapan and Empeno expressed concerns about information that Palparan might no longer be detained at the NBP.

Catapang categorically denied these claims, affirming that Palparan continues to serve his sentence within the premises of the New Bilibid Prison.
