Manila, April 28 -- Malacanang on Tuesday said it will seek an update from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on the proposed bridge connecting Aklan to Boracay Island.

At a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has been informed of the proposal, but no approval has been issued so far.

"Nabalitaan na po natin, nabalitaan na po ng Pangulo ang nangyayari dito at sa ngayon po, pinamamahala muna kay DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon (The President has been informed about the developments, and for now, the matter has been referred to DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon)," Castro said.

Castro said the Palace is awaiting further details from the DPWH.
