Manila, March 13 -- Malacanang on Friday denied reports that Henry Aguda is set to step down as secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said there is no confirmation from the Palace that Aguda would be leaving his post.
"Not true," she said, when asked about the reported leadership change at the DICT.
Aguda currently heads the DICT, the agency responsible for overseeing the government's digital transformation programs, cybersecurity initiatives, and the expansion of connectivity nationwide.
Castro issued the statement following reports that former presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda is being eyed as the next DICT chief, replacing Aguda.
