Manila, Sept. 23 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) is ready to secure the country's hosting of the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Meetings in November, with security preparations underway to ensure the safety of participating leaders, delegates, guests, and the public, Malacanang said on Wednesday.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the PNP is coordinating with concerned government agencies, local government units, and other security partners for the deployment of personnel and security coverage during the regional gathering.
