Manila, Feb. 18 -- Malacanang on Wednesday clarified that efforts to secure the return of former lawmaker Zaldy Co involve both diplomatic and law enforcement channels, following seemingly differing statements from key agencies.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) have distinct but complementary roles in pursuing the former lawmaker tagged in the flood control anomalies.
She explained that while the DFA handles state-to-state engagement, law enforcement agencies remain in charge of coordination with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
