P99.6-M contraband seized in Western Mindanao maritime ops
Manila, Sept. 12 -- Maritime enforcement operations in Western Mindanao recently confiscated PHP99.65 million worth of alleged contraband, consisting of fuel, cigarettes, and lumber, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported on Saturday.
In a statement, the bureau said the operations were conducted by the Naval Command Western Mindanao (NCWM) from Aug. 28 to Sept. 3.
Seized during the operations were undocumented diesel fuel valued at PHPP72.17 million, smuggled foreign-brand cigarettes and a motor vessel worth PHP27.23 million, and illegally transported Lauan lumber valued at PHP251,999.
