ILOILO CITY, July 13 -- At least PHP6.19 million in assistance has been provided to families in Western Visayas affected by the southwest monsoon (habagat) enhanced by tropical cyclone Inday.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Western Visayas (DSWD-6) said as of Monday morning, the weather disturbance has affected 362 villages in 40 local government units, impacting 12,523 families or 43,831 individuals.

Of the affected population, 688 families or 2,700 individuals are staying in 65 evacuation centers, while 1,292 families or 4,752 individuals are being assisted outside.

The DSWD report also recorded 34 totally damaged houses and 603 partially damaged houses.
