Manila, March 30 -- Authorities confiscated PHP42.17 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 120 suspects in nationwide operations conducted from March 19 to 26.

In a statement Monday, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Isagani Nerez said a total of 88 operations were carried out across the country during the period.

"All our efforts were anchored on the mandate of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to suppress the demand for illegal drugs and to build a drug-free, compassionate Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines)," he said.
