Manila, March 25 -- The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released around PHP16.5 billion to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) upon the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to accelerate infrastructure spending and sustain economic growth.

The amount, issued through a Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) to the DPWH Central Office, will be downloaded by implementing units across 17 regions nationwide, to settle due and demandable accounts payable, the DBM said Wednesday.

The DBM said the release aims to ensure the timely payment of completed and ongoing infrastructure projects, prevent delays, and support uninterrupted public service delivery.
