MANILA, July 29 -- The four PHP125 million cash withdrawals made by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) were unusual and unlike the transactions of other government agencies, retired Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) Shaw Boulevard branch manager Violeta Constantino told the Senate impeachment court on Wednesday.

Constantino made the statement while answering questions from Senator-Judge Erwin Tulfo following the defense's admission that four authentic Landbank checks - with a combined value of PHP500 million - were encashed by former OVP Special Disbursing Officer Gina Acosta.

Tulfo asked Constantino whether she had encountered another government agency withdrawing an equally large amount of physical cash.
