Manila, Oct. 29 -- The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) is on heightened alert to ensure passenger safety amid the expected surge in travelers during the observance of Undas, Administrator Gilberto Cruz said Wednesday.

"The OTS is on heightened alert. We don't want anyone to take advantage of the crowded areas due to the high volume of passengers," Cruz said in a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview.

He said security auditors have been deployed to ensure airports are implementing the necessary security measures, while a 24/7 information center has been activated.

The OTS is also coordinating closely with the Philippine National Police to strengthen airport security, he added.
