Manila, Sept. 24 -- National University Nazareth School kicked off its "three-peat" bid with a 25-14, 29-31, 25-17, 25-17 victory over Adamson University in the UAAP Season 89 girls' volleyball Thursday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Lady Bullpups, bannered by rookie Xyz Rayco and Jhaynna Bulandres, conquered the Lady Baby Falcons in one hour and 41 minutes.

The 15-year-old Rayco, a native of Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, finished with 20 points on 14 attacks, two blocks, and four aces.

Bulandres, the Season 88 Rookie of the Year, chipped in 14 points on 12 attacks, a block, and an ace. Micaella Gould orchestrated the offense with 24 excellent sets to go with two aces, while libero Ghenievib Belen anchored the defense with 13 digs.
