Manila, Sept. 24 -- Tropical Storm Surigae has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was given the local name Queenie, the weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin on Thursday.

Queenie packs maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 90 kph, but no wind signal is hoisted on any part of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The cyclone was last located 1,310 km. east of Northern Luzon, moving west-northwestward at 35 kph.

Queenie's periphery and trough will bring strong to gale-force gusts across Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.
