Manila, March 18 -- No more public school teachers will retire at the entry-level Teacher I position under a newly enacted career progression law, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian said.
Gatchalian made the assurance Wednesday as the Department of Education (DepEd) prepares to promote around 100,000 public school teachers and school heads this year.
The senator said promotions are in line with the implementation of Republic Act 12288, or the Career Progression System for Public School Teachers and School Leaders Act, which expands career opportunities in teaching and school administration.
