Manila, July 23 -- There will be no loyalty check among members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Malacanang said Thursday, despite reports that active soldiers were among the persons of interest in an alleged plot to kill President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

In a Palace press briefing, Castro said the President continues to have confidence in government troops, even as authorities investigate individuals allegedly linked to threats against him.

Castro said Marcos knows whom he can trust and the matter remains under the supervision of the AFP leadership.
