Manila, June 23 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines dismissed talks of a tension between ranking military generals and Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., allegedly regarding the Cabinet official's dual citizenship.

"On the claim that the majority of generals of the AFP would be filing a similar case, that is a joke that should be laughed at and not replied to ... No such claims exist, laugh at it, it's a good joke," AFP spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Navy, reservist Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, said during a press briefing at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Social media reports claimed the alleged rift is caused by the Defense chief's alleged dual citizenship status.
